Winter elegance at Quantock Lakes | Siobhan & Jack

ocated in Somerset in the village of Nether Stowey, Quantock Lakes was my next venue for a lovely winters day in early February 2017. It was the perfect winters day and the sun shone for Siobian and Jack.

Siobian and her bridal party got ready in the recently finished Wedding Village, which includes, the Posh Piggery Bridal Suite and a large 2-storey barn conversion called the Wagon House. It was a great space to get ready in with lots of natural light and plenty of room for everyone. I particularly utilised the balcony overlooking the sitting room to capture lots of lovely getting ready photographs and capture the relaxed atmosphere in the morning among everyone.

The ceremony and reception took place over in the main barn which has two separate spaces for both events. A purpose built barn with a modern feel reflected Siobhan’s classic monochromatic flowers perfectly and shows that sometimes less really is more. The overall styling of the wedding was timeless and combined with the cosy fire in the main reception room and modern country decor, everything came together perfectly for the relaxed and intimate day the couple sought. With the beautiful view of the lake and rolling hills through the glass windows but yet the warm and fun atmosphere inside it was the perfect combination for a wedding filled with fun.

I loved that Siobhan and Jack wanted a natural and relaxed approach to their wedding day and this is reflected in the photography too. The whole day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and the relaxed atmosphere was apparent as soon as the formality of the ceremony had taken place. Weddings are about creating memories, celebrating, laughing and enjoying the company of those you love dearly. My job as their photographer was to blend in and portray this through the collection so I hope you enjoy some of my favourite photographs from this wonderful day.

I have really fonded memories of not only their wedding but an afternoon spent on Crantock beach near Newquay a few months before the wedding for their engagement shoot. The location was where Jack had proposed and it really was stunning. It gave me the opportunity to get to know them before the wedding and I would very much like to wish them a happy 1st anniversary.  I hope the first year of being married has been filled with lots of love and laughter.
